Provincial formularies generally focus coverage on diabetes medications. Because Wegovy is approved specifically for weight management, public coverage for it is more limited than for Ozempic in diabetes. Private insurance

Private group plans through an employer are the most common route to coverage for weight-management medications, but many plans exclude them or require prior authorization. Review your plan documents or call your insurer before assuming a cost.
